INSPIRE’s “Playing It Forward” Benefit Concert

INSPIRE was excited, after months of planning & lots of practice, to put on our First Annual Benefit Concert titled, “Playing it Forward”! Everyone worked together to bring about a dynamic night!  We were grateful to have  Jef Rawls (Jesterz) as  our emcee and “We Are The Strike” as our headliners for the night.

INSPIRE loved having “We Are The Strike” as our headliners!

“We Are The Strike” recently released their self-titled EP and had huge success performing in both Provo, Utah and Los Angeles. They are a 9-piece funk-pop band forged in Provo, that has risen rapidly by captivating crowds with a brand of music beyond traditional pop. Last summer they won the Stadium of Fire competition which landed them opening for Kelly Clarkson and Carly Rae Jepsen.  They’ve opened for Vertical Horizon, Jason Scheff of Chicago, Mason Jennings, and the Piano Guys. They also played at Hard Rock Cafe in Vegas!

INSPIRE: Youth (14-18) Rehearsing “Seize The Day” from Newsies

After a few months of practicing, some performing, and last minute blocking. INSPIRE: Youth (14-18) came out and rocked their 2 numbers, “Seize The Day” and “I Can Only Imagine”.

INSPIRE: Youth (10-14) performing during the Benefit Concert

Also, INSPIRE: Youth (10-14) did an amazing job on their 2 songs, “Frozen Medley” and “At the Beginning”

There were a few other performers such as American Leadership Academy’sn (ALA)  Ballroom & Hip Hop Crew, Michelle Moyer, and some incredible Vocal Point Alumni.

Vocal Point Alumni singing “Home” to Chelsea Sackett for her and Michael’s 6th Anniversary

As a surprise to Chelsea, Michael’s wife, for their 6th Anniversary he sang, “Home” (Michael Buble’) with other VP alums. She had no idea and loved every minute of it! It seemed fitting since Michael had proposed to her at a VP concert.

“Put your faith in what you most believe in…”

I think my favorite part was the finale number where everyone came together to sing these words, …”Put your faith in what you most believe in…” And we did! INSPIRE put our hard work and faith into the idea that this Benefit Concert would be a success—and it was!
